Rustam Minnikhanov: We appreciate the high level of cooperation with Turkish partners

On April 27, speaking at the Turkey – Tatarstan business forum in Istanbul, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan appreciates the high level of cooperation with Turkish partners.

Welcoming the forum participants, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Istanbul Andrey Podelyshev noted that Tatarstan is one of the examples to show how well-coordinated, operational and dynamically developing economic interaction between Russia and Turkey can be.

"The Republic of Tatarstan is considered one of the most economically developed regions of Russia. It is nice to realize that Tatarstan is well-known to Turkish partners, with whom it has developed close, multifaceted, trade and economic ties,” Podlyshev added.

Speaking at the forum, Minnikhanov invited representatives of Turkish business circles to visit Tatarstan and get acquainted with the infrastructure of industrial sites and the conditions created for investors.

"For two days of stay in Turkey we have held a lot of interesting meetings, have got acquainted with the experience in implementing major projects in the field of medicine and transport. We have a lot to learn from here,” he said.

Minnikhanov noted that the Consulate General of Turkey is successfully operating in Kazan, the representation office of Tatarstan is open in Istanbul, direct flights are organized.

"We appreciate the high level of our cooperation. Tatarstan should bring positive dynamics, which is very important today, to Russian-Turkish relations. I assure you that all your projects that will be considered in Tatarstan will receive the overall support,” Tatarstan President said.

Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, Director General of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone Timur Shagivaleev and Chairman of the regional State Committee for Tourism Sergey Ivanov told the forum participants in detail about the republic, its investment, economic and tourist potential.

A representative of the Turkish Kastamonu Company told the forum about the experience of implementing the investment project in Tatarstan and further work in the Russian market.

A document on cooperation between the Ministry of Economy of the republic, Zelenodolsk municipal region of the republic and the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone, a protocol on cooperation between the Union of Municipalities of the Turkic World and Almetyevsk municipal region of the republic were signed at the end of the forum.
