On April 25, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with members of the delegation of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, who are on a working visit in Tatarstan.
Minnikhanov welcomed the guests on behalf of the regional leadership and thanked them for the interest shown to the region. He reminded that following the visit of the Tatarstan delegation to London in November last year, it was agreed that representatives of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce will visit Kazan.
Despite the current political situation, it is very important to maintain the existing relations, Minnikhanov said. We can be useful to each other on many issues and activities, he added.
Speaking of his visit to London, Tatarstan President noted that many interesting meetings and negotiations were held.
"We can discuss further cooperation," he said. “The trade turnover has increased. For the business of your country it is also important to enter the large market, such as the Russian market.” According to Minnikhanov, there are prospects for cooperation in industry and trade, in the field of technology and other areas.
We need to organize our joint work properly, Minnikhanov said.
In his turn, Executive Director of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce Alf Torrents thanked Minnikhanov for the opportunity to meet and discuss prospects for cooperation. He also noted that a good and informative programme of stay was prepared for the delegation of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce. Alf Torrents also reminded that Patron of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce Prince Michael of Kent has visited Tatarstan many times.
Then, Torrents read a greeting Prince Michael of Kent, a member of the British royal family, Patron of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce addressed to the participants of today's meeting.
