On April 21, speaking at a regional video-conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and heads of all municipalities of the republic, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov said that the readiness of agricultural machinery for the coming sowing season was checked in all regions of the republic from April 9 to 13. Despite the financial difficulties because of current prices for agricultural products, the absolute majority of farms are ready for sowing, he added.

"During the remaining days before the sowing campaign we need to take measures to make all agricultural machinery ready, as well as to mobilize human resources in compliance with labour protection and motivation requirements," the Minister said.

He drew the particular attention to the financial support for the sowing campaign. "This year, the financial support for the sowing campaign is more important than ever to succeed in crop production," Akhmetov said. “Targeted work is underway to attract credits. So far, the banks have granted 9.8 billion roubles of preferential short-term credits. "

Speaking about the additional regional support to the farms, Akhmetov reminded that it is more than last year.
