Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the opening of the Eighth Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai

On April 9, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening ceremony of the Eighth Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai and delivered a speech at a plenary session on the topic “Global Leaders Debate: Ensuring Sustainable Development through Foreign Direct Investment".

“The Republic of Tatarstan one of the first regions among the regions of the Russian Federation adopted a law on investment activities. According to the law, investments in Tatarstan cannot be nationalized, placed under requisition or confiscation. We celebrate the 20th anniversary of the adoption of this law this year. One of the most important factors for investors is the legislation stability. Tatarstan is one of the leading industrial and agricultural regions of Russia. We are leaders in the national rating of conditions of the investment environment the third year,” Minnikhanov assured the meeting participants, opening the plenary session.

He also emphasized that Tatarstan is gradually strengthening its positions in the area of development and implementation of information technologies.

Answering the question of the meeting moderator about ensuring the compliance of attracted investments with the standards of uniformity and sustainability in Russia, Minnikhanov assured that mixed economy with a predominance of market economy has been established in Russia today.  The regions are granted independence in attracting investors and there is a high competition for investors between them.

In conclusion, Tatarstan President invited the participants of the Eighth Annual Investment Meeting to attend the 10th International Economic Summit “Russia - the Islamic world: KazanSummit” to be held in Kazan on May 10-12, 2018.
