Marat Akhmetov reports on the progress made in preparing Tatarstan for the sowing season

On April 7, speaking at a video conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of all regional municipalities, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov reported on the progress made in preparing Tatarstan for the sowing season.

Akhmetov noted during the preparation for sowing the main efforts should be aimed at maintaining moisture in the soil as much as possible. First of all, this is about timely quality harrowing, he continued.

As for the financial support of the sowing campaign, all measures are being taken to promptly provide farms with the budget funds, Akhmetov said. Thus, in autumn, about one billion roubles were additionally allocated from the regional budget to purchase mineral fertilizers for winter sowing. A number of other measures to support agricultural producers are being implemented. Serious work is also underway to attract loans, he added.

Speaking at the meeting, Tatarstan President stressed that the regional heads should keep the issues of the forthcoming sowing campaign under special control.
