Nikolay Nikoforov and Rustam Minnikhanov take part in a meeting of the supervisory board of the Kazan Federal University

On April 6, Russian Minister of Communications Nikolay Nikiforov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Rector of Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov took part in a meeting of the supervisory board of the University held at the Engineering Institute.

Before the meeting, Minnikhanov and Nikiforov examined the exhibition of  research work in the sphere of robotics and additive technologies of the Kazan Federal University. In particular, the guests got acquainted with the development of scientists of the university in the field of 3D-modeling, advanced materials, engineering of medical equipment, IT technologies.

In his welcoming speech, Nikiforov emphasized that the supervisory board of the Kazan Federal University is working actively, many issues are concerned and decided by correspondence.

Tatarstan President noted that major changes are taking place at the university today. “The new competencies at the Kazan Federal University are highly competitive and demanded both in our republic and in the whole country. We were impressed by the developments being under way here. The most important thing is that students will be integrated into all processes of the digital economy. We will support our colleagues as much as possible,” Minnikhanov added.

One of the topics of the meeting’s agenda was the opening of a joint autonomous non-profit organization of the Kazan Federal University and Rusfond “Kazan (Volga) Register of Potential Bone Marrow Donors”.

Also, members of the supervisory board discussed the establishment of small innovative enterprises, reviewed the financial and economic activities of the university for 2017 and set the planned indicators for 2018-2020.
