Rustam Minnikhanov visits the Institute of Technology in Lausanne

On March 22, during his working visit to Switzerland, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Institute of Technology in Lausanne.

The Institute is regarded as one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Europe. Today, more than 10.5 thousand students study in the following fields: architecture, construction, informatics, basic sciences, biology, engineering, computer science and communication systems, humanities and others. Every year the institute holds leading positions in various ratings of the best universities in Europe and the world.

The representatives of the university told Minnikhanov about the educational process, the prospects for the development of innovation activity, entrepreneurial activity, the university's interaction with the business sector, and the active support of students in the development of their own start-up projects.

It was particularly noted that the Lausanne Institute of Technology interacts with universities around the world. In 2012, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Laboratory of Computer Simulation and Imaging of the University of Lausanne and the Kazan Federal University. The main forms of cooperation included the exchange of teachers, the implementation of joint research and continuing education programmes, the organization of symposia, conferences, short-term courses and meetings on the topics of research.

The meeting discussed prospects for further cooperation between the Institute of Technology of Lausanne and the universities of Tatarstan (Kazan Federal University and the University of Innopolis).
