Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport of Tatarstan: Students' teams are in demand in nine branches of Tatarstan economy

On March 20, speaking at the meeting in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vladimir Leonov reported that students’ teams and labour teams, which involve over ten thousand students annually, are in demand in nine branches and segments of Tatarstan economy.

The Minister emphasized that Tatarstan Government regularly supports students’ teams movement: the concept of development for 2018-2020 has been approved, a Coordination Council has been established at the interdepartmental level, activities are being implemented.

On the initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport of the republic, the Executive Committees of the regions of Tatarstan have adopted the regulations of municipalities "On supporting the movement of student work teams at the local level”.

Regional competitions such as “Student’s work team of the Year”, contest of socially significant projects, media competition for the best coverage of activity of the movement are held to support and develop the movement in the republic.

The goal is formation of sustainable positive image of modern movement of labour teams and attracting public attention.

The movement is actively supported at the state level. By order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, February, 17 was declared the “Day of Russian students’ teams”, to enhance the prestige of labour teams, which currently involve over 200,000 people throughout the country, the speaker noted. 

He emphasized that due to the support of Tatarstan President, on February 17, in the concert hall of the Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism , Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport of the кepublic and Regional Centre of Students’ work teams the third Regional Forum of Student Young Workers “By deed, not by word” was held.

Today, the work on attracting students’ environmental groups for cleaning the riverside areas of water basins from household waste and natural clutter is being carried out. It is also planned to hold events dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the movement of students’ work teams of Tatarstan.
