Tatarstan President highly appreciates the contribution of the Vacuummash Enterprise to defence capability of the country

On March 15, during his visit to the Vacuummash Plant, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the exposition of the plant museum and said that the Vacuummash has made a major contribution to defence capability of the country.

Director of the enterprise Evgeny Kapustin introduced to Tatarstan President the goods which the plant has been producing since 1959 and told him about the history of the Vakuummash, new developments and the geography of deliveries.

Minnikhanov saw the working areas of the enterprise, new machines, got acquainted with the production process of vacuum equipment. The Head of the plant told Minnikhanov about priority projects that are being implemented jointly with Russian and foreign partners.

According to Minnikhanov, a serious impetus for the development of the enterprise is the coming of young staff. It is supported by the fact that the Department of the Kazan National Research Technological University is working at the plant. “You are producing a competitive product. The Vakuummash is the main manufacturer of vacuum machines in our country. We will always support all your undertakings,” he assured.

The postgraduate student of the Vacuum Technology Department of  the Kazan National Research Technological University who combines study with work at the enterprise at the moment, offered Tatarstan President  the idea of annual award “Engineer of the Year” in order to popularize the profession. Minnikhanov supported the idea and gave an errand to Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov to engage in the development of this issue.

One of the employees of the enterprise asked Minnikhanov to pay attention to the solution of the transport issue.  According to her, most employees of the plant live in the Gorki microdistrict in Kazan. Despite the relatively small distance, the road to the work in the rush-hour takes about one and a half to two hours.

Tatarstan President said that the city authorities raised this issue. At the moment, the projecting is being done, and forwarded the issue to Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, who also took part in the meeting with the plant’s staff. According to Metshin, road expansion, building of junctions, resettlement of houses is scheduled.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that the basis of the economy of the republic is industrial enterprises, where added value is created. The Vakuummash is just one of those.

“Why are you competitive because you have a department, you have a development center, you have a foreign partner. You work at such facilities, which are very important, and this is high professionalism and your skill. Here I am amazed at the technological solutions that you have implemented here. It is very impressive,” Minnikhanov said.
