Rustam Minnikhanov: Human capital is the main asset of Tatarstan

On March 13, at the Piramida Entertainment Complex, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a plenary meeting of the 8th Congress of Students of Tatarstan.

As many as 983 representatives of regional universities and colleges took part in the meeting. Before the meeting, Tatarstan President was told about the projects of the League of Students such as the Student Educational Forum, Spartakiada "Friendship of Peoples", "Student Spring of the Republic of Tatarstan" and others.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that the future of the republic depends on proactive young specialists. "These are not just beautiful words. Speaking of the fourth technological revolution, a few years ago it seemed that it was far away. However, today artificial intelligence, blockchain are already a reality, and only young and forward-minded people like you can understand this," he said to the audience.

Tatarstan President reminded that the previously adopted Strategy-2030 defines human capital as the main value of Tatarstan. "Those skills and leadership qualities that you have will help our republic remain the leader among Russian regions," Minnikhanov said.

He stressed that many significant events have taken place recently due to which Kazan has became widely known all over the world. They include the 1000th anniversary of the capital of Tatarstan, the 2013 Universiade, the 2015 FINA World Championship and matches of FIFA World Cup that will start in Kazan this June.

"We see how our regions and cities are changing. Completely new areas are appearing. In particular, the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, where a total of 23 modern enterprises are operating. There is a university and an industrial park in the city of Innopolis. All this requires good educational base. You are the brightest representatives of our leading universities,” Minnikhanov added.
