On March 12, in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the renovated A.M. Gorky and F.I. Shalyapin museum.
Director of the museum Marianna Gavrilova told Minnikhanov about the results of major reconstruction that was carried out in 2016. According to her, the previous exposition, which was created in the late 1980's, was less in terms of area and exhibit items.
At present, the museum’s collection includes 40,000 exhibits related to A.M. Gorky and 4,000 items about Shalyapin. In total, the museum exhibits about 700 different items including photographs, letters, personal belongings of Alexei Gorky and Fyodor Chaliapin.
After looking around the expositions, Minnikhanov took part in a master class on baking bread organized for children in the Traktir u Gorkogo café.
Later on the same day, Tatarstan President held a meeting with representatives of the creative intelligentsia of the republic. In his welcoming speech, Minnikhanov appreciated the results of the reconstruction of the A.M. Gorky and F.I. Shalyapin museum. He expressed his confidence that the renewed expositions will be of interest to guests and residents of the capital.
