Rustam Minnikhanov: We attach great importance to the development of cooperation with the Republic of Bangladesh as part of relations between Russia and Bangladesh

On February 28, in the Government House of the republic, at his meeting with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Russia S. M. Saiful Hoque, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We attach great importance to the development of cooperation with the Republic of Bangladesh as part of relations between Russia and Bangladesh.”

The Ambassador, who arrived in Kazan on the 25th of February, 2018, has already met mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin, visited the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other facilities, which are of interest to him.

Besides, holding a press conference, Hogue told reporters about cooperation with the republic. In particular,  he said that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Bangladesh amounted to 40 million dollars in 2017. According to the Ambassador, agriculture, chemistry, pharmaceutical industry and shipbuilding can become promising areas for cooperation between Tatarstan and Bangladesh. He also said that they plan to open an exhibition of educational facilities of Tatarstan in Bangladesh.

Aide to Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov took part in the meeting.
