On February 26, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a regular board meeting of Tatneftekhiminvest-holding to consider a number of innovative projects and technology for their further introduction at the regional fuel and energy complex enterprises.

In particular, Head of the laboratory of progressive polymers of the Berbekov Kabardino-Balkaria State University Svetlana Khashirova presented a new import-substituting technology for obtaining super-constructive polymers.

The areas of their application include aircraft construction, production of military and space technology, electronics, robotics, electrical engineering, automotive industry and medicine.

The production output of super-constructive polymers is 300,000 tonnes per year in the world. There are no such production facilities in Russia. The expected growth in demand makes 10 per cent per year.

"Being the largest producer of plastic and rubber, Tatarstan is very interested in such solutions," Minnikhanov commented. “New materials, composites occupy an increasing share in engineering, production of cars and aircrafts."

According to him, the topic is interesting with regard to aggressive environments. Tatarstan President suggesting sending a group of specialists from Tatneft, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, and Kazanorgsintez companies to the Kabardino-Balkaria University to establish contacts and study the issue.

Deputy Director of the Topchiev Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) Alexey Volkov told the meeting about methods of membrane separation to intensify the processes of preparation of gases and petrochemicals.

Vice-president of Acronis Oleg Shaykhatarov proposed introducing Acronis import-substituting solutions for data protection at Tatarstan enterprises.

Co-founder and Technical Director of Valadorus Soft Igor Korshunov presented new possibilities of the Geratix analytical platform.

Director General of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone Timur Shagivaleev proposed implementing new projects in the field of petrochemical industry, which will help solve the raw material problem for existing production facilities.

Therefore, he plans to move from attracting new investors to "growing" and establishing production facilities, which are not available in Russia. According to him, work with international companies interested in opening production facilities in Russia is underway.

Minnikhanov supported Timur Shagivaleev's proposal to look for new niches in the sphere of import substitution. "We should develop export potential, as well as in the food industry, based on our raw materials, products," Minnikhanov stated. "We have a full set of petrochemical products, except for some items."
