Rustam Minnikhanov receives congratulatory telegrams on the occasion of the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland

On February 23, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov received congratulatory telegrams on the occasion of the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland.

"I congratulate you on the Day of Defender of the Fatherland! The victorious, patriotic traditions of the Russian Army were forged in the difficult campaigns, on the fields of historical battles, strengthening its power and glory,” the telegram on behalf of the Russian President Vladimir Putin reads. “We are sincerely proud of the feats of arms of our fathers and grandfathers, their valour and courage. We honour those who have devoted themselves to serving the Motherland, protecting its freedom and security. I wish you success and all the best."

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, and other officials also sent their telegrams.

"Years pass by, eras change, but the glorious traditions of the Russian Armed Forces – commitment to duty and devotion to the interests of the Motherland are carefully preserved and passed on to new generations of Russian soldiers and officers," Medvedev said in his telegram.

"We are proud of  patriotism of the Russian army, which has always devotedly defended the interests of the Motherland, and today we are honoring all who with their military valour and creative work multiplies the power and glory of Russia", the telegram of Valentina Matvienko reads in particular.
