Nizhnekamsk municipal region ranks third in the socio-economic development of the republic

On February 21, during his working visit to Nizhnekamsk municipal region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the local Council of the region.

Before the meeting, Minnikhanov visited the consulting and diagnostic centre “Nizhnekamskaya central regional multifunctional hospital” after capital repair and got acquainted with the activity of Youth Initiatives Centre “KoVeR”.

Making a keynote report, Head of the region and Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Aidar Metshin informed the meeting about the indicators of social and economic development the municipality reached in 2017.

“We suppose that the development of the region's economy is connected with the cooperation with our new partners Meishan city, China and the city of Marmaris,  the Republic of Turkey,  with which we have concluded an agreement on interaction and cooperation in trade, economic, cultural areas, education, health and tourism fields,” Metshin said.

Among the positive results of 2017, Metshin called the population growth and increase in life expectancy.

Mayor of Nizhnekamsk also reported that Nizhnekamsk municipal region ranks fourth in education quality, and the task is to get to the top three in 2018.

In his turn, Minnikhanov encouraged strengthening the development of small and medium-sized businesses coupled with industrial enterprises of Nizhnekamsk and also simplifying the establishment of business for start-up entrepreneurs.

Nizhnekamsk municipal region ranks third in the the rating of social and economic development of the municipalities of the republic and the second in attracting the fixed investments. The rate of shipped products of Nizhnekamsk enterprises in the all-republic volume amounts to 21 per cent.

During the meeting, Minnikhanov also raised the issue of arrears to the budget and tax arrears. Tatarstan President asked the head of the region to work actively in this direction.

Nizhnekamsk municipal region ranks 11th in the rating on the economic and industrial indicators of the development of agro-industrial sector, the gross volume of agricultural products is four billion roubles.
