Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin meets the delegation of South Khorasan Province (Iran)

On February 21, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin met the delegation of South Khorasan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Deputy Governor Seyed Mojtaba Alavi Mohammad.

Welcoming the guests, Pesoshin thanked for the interest they had shown in Tatarstan as one of the dynamically developing regions of Russia. Your visit to Tatarstan indicates good pace of development of our relations, Pesoshin said. It is encouraging that the relations are not limited to the political meetings.

Tatarstan Prime Minister reminded that Tatarstan as a region of Russia has long-standing relationships with Iran and a number of its provinces.

The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been operating in Kazan since 2007 and its work contributes to strengthening of Tatarstan - Iranian relations.

Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic briefly introduced region’s economy and reported on the most significant projects. He reminded that products of mechanical engineering are manufactured, aircraft construction, helicopter construction, shipbuilding are developed, various items of equipment, products of petrochemicals and oil refining are produced in Tatarstan.

On May 10-12, 2018, the 10th anniversary International Economic Summit “Russia — Islamic World: KazanSummit” will be held in Kazan, Pesoshin reminded. He invited representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and South Khorasan Province to take part in Kazansummit – 2018.

He said that the key topic of the Kazansummit-2018 will be halyal way of life. He emphasized that the International Economic Summit contributes to the development and strengthening of friendly relations, business contacts with countries of the Islamic world.

He also reminded that Kazan will host football matches of FIFA World Cup 2018 this summer and Iran – Spain football match will be held at the Kazan Arena stadium in June 20.

“We will be glad to see you at the match,” Pesoshin told the members of the delegation of South Khorasan Province.

In his turn, Deputy Governor of South Khorasan Province (the Islamic Republic of Iran) Seyed Mojtaba Alavi Mohammad thanked for invitation to the match.

He emphasized that relations with Tatarstan are of long lasting character. “Long-standing relationship indicates that cooperation is progressing well and will also yield results,” Deputy Governor of South Khorasan Province said.

The delegation of South Khorasan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran is on a working visit in Tatarstan. Under the working programme, on February 20, the members of the delegation visited Kazan State Power Engineering University and had a meeting with Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
