Rustam Minnikhanov holds a regular presidium meeting of the Investment Council of the republic

On February 19, in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rutam Minnikhanov chaired a regular presidium meeting of the Investment Council of the republic to consider a number of investment projects.

Minnikhanov said that this is the first meeting of the Council's presidium in 2018. He briefed the participants on the main indicators of the social and economic development of the republic in 2017, reminding that the regional gross product went up by 2.8 per cent, industrial production increased by 1.8 per cent, while investments in fixed assets remained at the previous year’s level.

“Currently, the region offers conditions for the economic development of the territories, which include not only special economic zones, but other infrastructure facilities as well.  For example, apart from Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Chistopol, and Zelenodolsk have received the status of the territory of advanced social and economic development. These are very good prospects for the implementation of our large and small investment projects," he said. 

The project of establishing an independent foreign investment holding was considered first. Speaking at the meeting, member of the KGAL Group’s Supervisory Board Vladimir Shekoyan said that following the working visit of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Germany (Munich) in September 2017 it was decided to establish the first independent foreign investment holding in Tatarstan. The specialists of KGAL Group (Germany) and Tatarstan Investment Development Agency have done a lot of joint work. We hope that our interaction will continue on a long-term basis, the speaker said.

Then, the meeting considered a project to set up an elevator and travolator production facility in the town of Zelenodolsk.

Another investment project envisages the construction of a ferry line between Syukeyevsky vzvoz and Bolgar as part of the public-private partnership.

Also, a project for the construction of a plant for the production of synthetic resins with a capacity of 200,000 tonnes per year, including carbamide-formaldehyde concentrate and formalin with a capacity of 60,000 tonnes per year was submitted.

The idea of establishing the KAMAZ Automaker’s museum (Naberezhnye Chelny) to be open in late 2019 was supported as well.

Moreover, an investment project "Development of industrial park “Industrial site "Zelenodolsk" will be implemented in Zelenodolsk region.

All the projects on the meeting’s agenda were approved by the presidium of the Investment Council of the republic.
