Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in sessions and discussions of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi

On February 15, on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum “Sochi-2018”, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a panel session "Is it easy to be an entrepreneur? The view of business and government”, with Sberbank CEO and Chairman of the Board German Gref being the moderator. The event was broadcast live on the “Russia 24” TV channel.

The participants of the panel session and speaking businessmen and officials discussed the topical issue of what prevents entrepreneurship from fulfilling their potential in the country? It was noted that entrepreneurs complain of  unnecessary administrative pressure, unscheduled inspections, unaffordable credit resources and a lack of infrastructure necessary for the development. Besides, the lack of entrepreneurial competencies and the lack of qualified staff  become significant obstacles to development.

During the session, Gref mentioned the Republic of Tatarstan as a successful example of entrepreneurship support

The same day in the afternoon, Minnikhanov took part in the session "Monotown: Projecting the future".

Speaking during the session, representatives of the regions with the cities with monoeconomy discussed issues on the interaction of regional and municipal authorities and business in the development of mono-cities, the use of the initiative of active citizens and their involvement in the development of single-industry cities.

There are 319 single-industry cities in Russia, 36 of them obtained the status of Priority Social and Economic Development Areas. These mono-cities are located in 30 federal entities.

Naberezhye Chelny, Chistopol, Nizhnekamsk were granted the status of mono-cities. Priority Social and Economic Development Area was established in Naberezhnye Chelny in 2016. It was decided to establish Priority Social and Economic Development Areas in mono-cities Nizhnekamsk, Chistopol, Zelenodolsk on December, 2017.

The session "Monotown: projecting the future"  discussed that today not all mono-cities are working equally fast and efficiently. Participants of the discussion summed up the results of the implementation of the mono-city development programme in 2017.
