Rustam Minnikhanov: It is important to use the experience of the regions, where Special Economic Zones are operating, to improve unified mechanism of the development of territory

On February 15, on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Russian Minister of economic development Maksim Oreshkin to discuss the issues of development of the unified mechanism of territorial development with preferential conditions for entrepreneurship in the Russian Federation.

Governors of the regions – members of the Association of innovative regions of Russia took part in the meeting.

Oreshkin emphasized that the main tasks of creation of such unified mechanism of territorial development are optimization of the use of the state support measures, formation of new tools for the development of territories, improvement of the economic capacity of specific territories.

In their turn, governors, on whose territory Special Economic Zones and Priority Social and Economic Development Areas are established and operating, expressed their proposals in terms of improvement of mechanisms of state support, attracting potential investors for establishing industries in the special economic zones and others.

In particular, Tatarstan President, who is the Chairman of the Council of the Association of innovative regions, made a number of proposals. He emphasized that there are two special economic zones in Tatarstan: the Alabuga SEZ and the Innopolis SEZ, Priority Social and Economic Development Areas are also established, where resident companies have already been registered.

Minnikhanov suggested using the experience of the regions, where special economic zones are successfully operating, to improve the unified mechanism of territorial development

During the meeting, it was decided to organize a working group, which will include specialists from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and representatives of the regions - members of Association of innovative regions of Russia.
