On January 31, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov handed over keys to 50 new official cars to officers of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tatarstan.
“Today we are handing over new official cars for your operational work," Minnikhanov said, addressing traffic police officers. “You have a great responsibility. This year the republic will host a lot of events, including international ones such as matches of the FIFA World Cup, and other events. The traffic police has a heavy workload. You have always coped with the most difficult tasks. Today the traffic police of the republic is one of the most modern, the most operational, the most successful services. The leadership of the republic has helped and will continue to help you in improving the facilities of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate."
In his turn, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tatarstan Artem Khokhhorin reminded that this is the second batch of cars purchased for the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs using funds of the regional budget. "In total, 100 new cars were bought last year, and this is a significant contribution to ensuring security on roads and transport," he said.
Khokhhorin thanked the leadership of the republic and personally Minnikhanov for supporting the regional traffic police. He also reminded that over the last two months three new police departments were open in Kazan. Moreover, an unprecedented regional programme for the construction of corporate housing complexes for district police commissioners was implemented, he added.
