Vladimir Putin launched two new installations at TANECO Oil Refining Complex

On January 25, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov reported Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is on a working trip in Kazan, on the implementation of the TANECO Oil Refining Complex project (Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan).

Putin joined the meeting with TANECO’s specialists in Nizhnekamsk via video linkup. 

Minnikhanov told the President about the TANECO project, including investments made, the processing depth, which currently makes 99.2 per cent, refinery capacity (8.7 million tonnes) and other parameters.

Director General of Tatneft Oil Company Nail Maganov reported from Nizhnekamsk via video linkup that the task assigned by the President Vladimir Putin to strengthen oil refining in Russia has been fulfilled. At the same time, he noted that the Government has taken all necessary decisions to stimulate oil refining in the industry and to expand public-private partnership. "As a result, a complex of a new technological generation providing for the maximum processing depth was built in Nizhnekamsk. We will produce only light oil products. The company invested 307 billion roubles into the project, with 3,500 jobs having been created. As of today, more than 50 million tonners of oil have been processed. Over 10,000 builders worked at the construction site and it was apart from those who prepared the construction site and manufactured the equipment. During the project implementation, our machine engineers developed and put into operation 25 new groups of equipment, including electronics, automation, pumping and compressor equipment. The project continues to develop. The construction is underway, with 6,000 people working at the construction site. And today we are ready to open two new production facilities. This is a naphtha hydro treatment unit with a capacity of 1.1 million tonnes per year and an isomerization unit for light naphtha with a capacity of 420,000 tonnes per year. "

Putin ordered to launch new facilities at TANECO. "Nail Ulfatovich! I congratulate you and your great team,” Putin said. “You have done a great job, which produced an excellent result. I wish you further success.”

At his meeting with Putin held afterwards Minnikhanov reported on the development of the region and its economy. "The measures taken recently present an opportunity to implement major investment plans," Minnikhanov said.
