Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives in Kazan

On January 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan, was met by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the Kazan International Airport.

Putin will have a meeting with the representatives of Muslim religious organizations and the heads of the Bolgar Islamic Academy.

It is planned to consider the issues of forming an integral system of religious education and the development of the national theological school, and to sum up the results of work of the Academy.

Tomorrow, on the 25th of January, the Head of the State will continue to work in Kazan. Russian President will visit the Kazan Aircraft Plant named after Gorbunov to watch demonstration flight of an advanced airplane Tu-160M and to talk to the staff of the enterprise.

Later on the same day, Putin will take part in All-Russian Forum of students clubs “Forward Together”, which will be held on the site of the Tatneft Arena Ice Palace with over 5,000 students from 38 regions of the Russian Federation taking part in it. The main goal of the Forum, which was timed to coincide with the Day of Russian student community, is the promotion of team spirit of the students and creation of collective activity of universities all over the country.

Then, the Russian President will visit the Institute of Fundamental Medicine of the Kazan Federal University, where he will get acquainted with the centres of innovative medical education and will hold a video-conference with the leading higher education institutions on the issues of academic mobility, the employment of university graduates and other aspects of students’ life in Russia.  

The meeting between Putin and Minnikhanov is scheduled.
