19.01.2018

On January 19, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a summing-up meeting of the regional prosecutor’s office.

Making a keynote report on the results of work in 2017, the Chief Prosecutor of the republic Ildus Nafikov said that after the intervention of Tatarstan prosecutors administrative measures were taken against almost 3,000 officials. In total, supervisory authorities detected over 48,000 violations, 279 criminal cases were initiated.

“Violations in work with appeals of the citizens were revealed in ministries of healthcare, architecture, construction, housing and utilities and in others, in Almetyevsk, Bugulma, Laishevo. Unfortunately, poor local work with appeals of the citizens is under way.  I draw your attention that you should not only work in the offices but be on-site visits. Only last year, I and my deputies made the personal reception of over 900 citizens, although we have enough work,” Nafikov emphasized.

Minnikhanov asked regional prosecutors to work more carefully in economic sphere. “I note the importance of the work of the Prosecutor's office aimed at reducing suspicious transactions and shell companies, suppressing financial pyramids and tax migration of bankrupt firms,” Minnikhanov said.

“Today, the role of the Prosecutor's office is evident and significant in almost all spheres of life. Stability of society largely depends on exact and intelligent actions of prosecutors. Over the past year, crisis in the banking sector became a severe test for the region. The prosecutor’s office quickly responded by organizing work with deceived depositors. There were 255 claims sent to the court, most of which were satisfied,” Minnikhanov continued.

Tatarstan President paid much attention to the implementation of security measures in educational institutions. He reminded that the recent events in the schools of Perm and Ulan-Ude  have caused wide response, safety of young people is the priority and requires comprehensive measures.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov and Timerzyanov handed in state awards to the most distinguished employees.
