Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is interested in developing cooperation with Kyzylorda region of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On January 18, speaking at his meeting with a delegation of the Kyzylorda region led by Akim Krymbek Kusherbayev, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan has significant potential and Tatarstan is interested in developing cooperation with this region.

Opening the meeting, Minnikhanov expressed his condolences in connection with the tragedy in Kazakhstan.

Then, Tatarstan President noted the active cooperation of Tatarstan with Kazakhstan. "We have long-standing friendly relations, and we are very pleased that Kazakhstan is one of the largest trade and economic partners of our republic," he said and reminded that large Tatarstan companies are successfully doing business in Kazakhstan. The General Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan is open in Kazan, regular flights on the route Kazan - Almaty and Kazan - Astana are carried out, he added.

Minnikhanov continued that there is a great potential for expanding cooperation not only with Kazakhstan, but with Kyzylorda region in particular. "We will not limit ourselves to trade and economic relations only. Our cultures, religion, languages ​​have much in common. We will continue to cooperate in all areas with Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan,” Minnikhanov said.

Minnikhanov also called education, culture, tourism, issues of business support and development, cooperation in the field of information technologies, innovations, exchange of experience in organization of exhibitions and other fields the main areas of the long-term cooperation between Tatarstan and Kyzylorda region.

Tatarstan President emphasized the success of Kazakhstan in the education system, noting that breakthrough projects are implemented in this area in the republic.

Minnikhanov invited Akim of Kyzylorda region and members of the delegation to attend matches of the FIFA World Cup to be held in Kazan this summer.

In his turn, Krymbek Kusherbayev noted achievements of Tatarstan in various spheres. "Tatarstan is rightfully  the leader among Russian regions. There are a lot of interesting practices In the republic, and we have seen this while visiting Innopolis and other facilities," he said.

According to Akim, Kyzylorda region and Tatarstan have great potential for further cooperation. In particular, he noted that agriculture is highly developed in the republic.
