Dmitry Rogozin and Rustam Minnikhanov take part in keel laying ceremony for the sixth patrol ship of 22160 project in Zelenodolsk

On January 13, at the Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Defence of Russia Yury Borisov and other officials took part in a keel-laying ceremony for a patrol ship of 22160 project, which is the sixth in a series.

In his welcoming speech, Rogozin congratulated everyone on the birth of a new ship. He noted that dwellers of Zelenodolsk have a tradition to work during holidays and on weekends, as the country looks forward to special efforts from Russian shipbuilders to feel even more secure so that our Navy replenish with new ships. This ship will perform the most serious tasks, Rogozin stressed. "This is a unique, highly maneuverable, mobile and very "toothy" ship," he described the project.

In his turn, Minnikhanov noted that the year begins with good deeds – the keel of a new ship is being laid. He continued that success of the city of Zelenodolsk is due to the shipyard's achievements. 

Minnikhanov also said that before the ceremony Director General of the plant Renat Mistakhov reported to Rogozin about the plans of the enterprise.

He also thanked the federal government and the Russian Defence Ministry for providing the plant with orders. "Thank you very much. Due to the orders, the plant is not only developing, it is thriving, and we have huge plans. I would like to thank the staff of the plant for their good work and wish them success. The republic will always support you," he said.
