Rustam Minnikhanov hands in state awards of Russia and Tatarstan

On December 26, in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov handed in state awards of Russia and Tatarstan to 52 citizens of the republic.

“With state awards we recognize your achievements and express our gratitude for creative work, courage and great contribution to the strengthening of the country and our republic. Thanks to  energy and talent of people who love their work, the boldest ideas in science, education, medicine, culture and other equally important branches are put into practice," Minnikhanov said in his opening speech.

Tatarstan President noted that the rich historical and cultural heritage, centuries-old traditions, unity and cohesion have made Tatarstan a region with great opportunities for economic, social and spiritual development.

According to Minnikhanov, the republic has been implementing the largest investment, socio-economic and infrastructure projects, hosts world championships and forums.

"Thanks to you, Tatarstan has achieved significant success. We are known not only in Russia, but also far beyond its borders. Dear friends! I congratulate you on the high awards and the coming New Year," Тatarstan President added.

The first award was handed in to the Hero of the Soviet Union, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War Boris Kuznetsov, who turned 92 years old today. Kuznetsov received the Commendation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan from Minnikhanov for many years of fruitful work for the benefit of the republic and significant contribution to the patriotic education of young people.

The Order of Friendship was handed in to Board Chairman of Efir TV Company Andrei Grigoriev, and President and Academic Secretary of the Department of Physics, Power Engineering and Earth Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of the republic Myakzyum Salakhov.

The medals of Order For Merit to the Fatherland of the second degree was presented to a truck driver of Aksubaev branch of Tatavtodor Road Maintenance Company Alexander Zharkov, Board Chairman of the Bank for Social Development of Tatarstan “TATSOTSBANK "Anastasia Kolesova, Chairman of the Tatar regional branch of the All-Russian Association of the Blind Vladimir Fedorin, Rector of Tupolev Kazan National Technical University Albert Gilmutdinov.

Seven people were awarded with medals of the Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan. A number of residents of the republic were awarded honorary titles, medals of the Republic of Tatarstan "For Valorous Labor."

Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov, Aide to Tatarstan President Leila Fazleeva, representatives of regional ministries and agencies took part in the ceremony.
