Tatarstan President attends the Regional New Year's Party – 2017

On December 25, at the Tatneft Arena Ice Palace in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov attended the traditional Regional New Year’s Party, which brought together more than 7,000 children from all over the republic.

Prior to the festive event, Tatarstan President had met the winners of various national and international competitions and contests among pupils.

This year the participants of the Regional New Year’s Party saw a large-scale spectacular performance, with more than a thousand professional artists involved in its preparation.

At the end of the show, Minnikhanov congratulated the young citizens of Tatarstan on the upcoming New Year. "I am sure that you will remember this spectacular trip for a long time. The New Year is a special holiday. It is when everyone waits for a miracle, sums up the results of the past year and sets plans for the future, "he said.

We have achievements to be proud of, Minnikhanov stressed. Today Tatarstan takes the third place in the country in terms of the number of the winners of the national competitions among schoolchildren. "Our children have become the winners and laureates of international and national competitions. Projects of young citizens of Tatarstan have been recognized the best ones at many federal forums,” Tatarstan President said.

Minnikhanov noted that this year Kazan hosted more than 15 federal and international events for young people.

“Much work is being done with compatriots who love their historical homeland, learn and know the Tatar language," Tatarstan President said.

He continued that 2018 is declared the Year of Volunteers in Russia. Minnikhanov expressed his confidence that every participant of today's holiday will take an active part in the development of the volunteer movement in our country.

"Dear friends! Interesting and eventful time lies ahead. I hope that 2018 will be a fruitful year and you will get new knowledge and skills that will help you in the future,” Minnikhanov added.
