Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in Presidium meeting of the General Council of the United Russia political party during the 17th party's congress

On December 23, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit in Moscow to take part in a joint meeting of the Supreme and General Councils of the United Russia political party.

Today is the second day of the 17th congress of the United Russia Party, the main topic of which is the 2018 Russian presidential election. Nearly 2,500 people are taking part in the congress, including 455 delegates from the party’s 85 regional branches.

At the Presidium meeting of the General Council of the United Russia party held during the 17th congress, it was decided to reshape the project activities. According to this decision, the number of party projects was optimized to 14. During the meeting, coordinators and chairmen of public councils of updated party projects were appointed. This instruction was given by Party's Chairman, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev following the meeting of the Commission for Monitoring the Implementation of the United Russia Party Election Programme.

According to Acting Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party Andrey Turchak, the project activities were reshaped to make their implementation more effective.

In particular, the Urban Environment project has been integrated with the Parks of Small Cities project under the same name. Member of the General Council, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Housing Policy and Utilities Pavel Kachkaev was appointed a coordinator of the optimized project. Member of the Bureau of the Supreme Council, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov will head the Public Council.
