On December 20, at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in Tatarstan-Iran Business Forum.

Speaking at the forum, on his own behalf and on behalf of the regional leadership Pesoshin welcomed the members of the Iranian delegation led by Governor of Khorasan Razavi Province Alireza Rashidian in hospitable Tatarstan.

"I would like to sincerely thank our Iranian colleagues for their attention paid to the development of cooperation with our republic and express my gratitude to the leadership of Russia and Iran for supporting ties at the regional level. Iran is one of Tatarstan's priority partners, with whom we have had long-term warm relations,” Pesoshin said.

He also stressed that Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, as well as representatives of the regional ministries and agencies have visited Iran several times.

In 2016, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Iran  went up by 1.6 times to make 13.3 million US dollars, and today we need to increase these figures, Pesoshin said.

"Our republic is interested in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Iranian companies," he continued. “We hope that during their meetings business circles of Tatarstan and Iran will exchange best practices, discuss existing business opportunities, open up new areas for interaction, agree on joint projects, including in the sphere of small and medium business.”

Tatarstan focuses on the development of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran as part of relations between Russia and Iran, Pesoshin emphasized.  As for us, we are ready to actively participate in these processes at the regional level, he added.

Pesoshin briefed about the industry of Tatarstan and innovative projects implemented in the region.

He expressed his confidence that the forum will promote further development of mutually beneficial relations and implementation of joint projects.
