Rustam Minnikhanov arrives in the city of Baikonur

On December 17, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit in the city Baikonur (Kazakhstan), was met by Akim of Kyzylorda Region Krymbek Kusherbayev at the airport.

Today, crew members of the Russian Soyuz MS-07 spacecraft to be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 10:21 Moscow time will deliver the Worldskills Flag to the International Space Station. The flag will be brought back to Earth in February next year to continue its journey across 21 countries around the world. The flag will arrive in Tatarstan in 2019 before the opening of the Worldskills Championship Kazan-2019.

Before the launch of the spacecraft, Minnikhanov plans to meet its crew members, including Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, U.S. astronaut Scott Tingle and Japanese astronaut Norishige Kanai. 

During his working visit, Minnikhanov will attend the Baikonur cosmodrome museum and the Korkyt-Ata memorial.
