As many as 130,000 tourists to visit Tatarstan during New Year holidays

On December 12, speaking at a briefing at the regional Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism Sergey Ivanov said that as many as 130,000 tourists will visit Tatarstan during the New Year holidays.

"A total of 386 hotels, hostels, health resorts and recreation centres will work in the republic to receive guests during the holidays. According to preliminary data from Kazan hotels, the hotels will be loaded by more than 88 per cent on the New Year’s Eve, and by 77 per cent from the 2nd to the 7th of January," the speaker said.

According to him, the hotels will be loaded by 95 per cent in the capital of Tatarstan during peak periods. As a rule, guests book hotels for three days. Currently, there are almost no vacant rooms in hotels. In total, more than 500 cultural and leisure activities are planned to be held in the republic during the forthcoming New Year holidays, the minister reported.
