Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov sums up the results achieved in the livestock sector of the republic for 11 months of the current year

On December 9, speaking at a video-conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the Government House of the republic, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov reported on the results achieved in the regional livestock sector for 11 months of the current year.

He continued that the production of milk has increased as compared to the same period last year. A total of 805.7 m pieces of eggs (105 per cent growth), 346,000 tonnes of livestock and poultry (102 per cent), including 90,000 tonnes of cattle (104 per cent), 177,500 tonnes of poultry (102 per cent) and 76,300 tonnes of pigs (99 per cent) have been produced during the reported period.

Despite the positive dynamics in the regional livestock sector, the number of cattle has reduced in 17 regions of the republic, Akhmetov draw attention to the problem.

In his turn, Minnikhanov urged local heads of regions that are lagging behind in the field of livestock production  to improve the situation.
