Aleksey Pesoshin: The total output of Tatarstan’s defense enterprises has amounted to 69 billion roubles for nine months of the current year

On December 6, at the Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism in Kazan, Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin took part in a plenary meeting of the third scientific and practical conference “Improving labor productivity of defense enterprises by using modern methods of production management.”

In his welcoming speech, Pesoshin noted that there are 26 large and medium-sized enterprises that are part of the Russian defense industry in the republic. They produce ammunition and special chemicals, airplanes, helicopters, ships, conventional weapons, aircraft engines, control and identification systems. In total, the industry employs more than 47,000 people. "The total output of large and medium-sized regional defense enterprises has amounted to about 69 billion roubles for nine months of the current year," the prime minister said.

He said that 12 regional enterprises are participating in the state programme for the development of the defense industry complex in 2017. From January to September, the regional factories, research institutes and design bureaus included in the list of defense organizations received more than seven billion roubles under the federal target and state programmes.

According to Pesoshin, enterprises need to improve their own efficiency. "Participants of this conference will study the successful experience of implementing the existing methods of increasing labor productivity and choose the most optimal ones for production and other sectors of the industry," he said to the audience.
