Prices for motor fuel in Tatarstan are not above the average price in the Volga Federal District

05.12.2017

On December 5, speaking at a briefing at Tatarstan Government House, Head of the Department of Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources of the republic Robert Gilyaziev reported on the situation with retail prices for motor fuel.

Gilyaziev explained that in the era of the market economy, retail prices for motor fuel directly depend on the level of selling prices of refineries and stock prices. However, as far as possible Tatarstan makes its own adjustments into this process to prevent unjustified price increases.

For this purpose, the Department of Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources of the republic weekly monitors selling and retail prices for motor fuel and compares them with that in the regions of the Volga Federal District. Prices are also monitored at the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange. From time to time, the Department provides the results to the leadership of the republic, which are posted weekly on the department's website.

According to Gilyaziev, prices at the regional petrol filling stations are not above the average price in the district, and even lower.
