On November 28, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vladimir Leonov reported that about 700 sports grounds have been built in Tatarstan in the past three and a half years.
Sports infrastructure of the republic is developing for the youth. There are 850,000 young people and 200,000 teenagers in Tatarstan, the minister said.
The programme of construction of sports grounds involves all the municipalities of the republic, Leonov said. About 90,000 teenagers attend 170 children's and youth sports schools.
Twelve per cent of all youth associations of Russia is located in Tatarstan, he added. Today the sphere of the youth policy of the republic covers more than 300 institutions, including teenage clubs, youth centres, military-patriotic clubs, etc.
"The infrastructure of these institutions is being improved with the support of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. We have a large-scale programme for the reconstruction of teenage centres," the minister said.
There are 68 youth and more than 500 children's public associations in the republic, involving more than 300,000 citizens, Leonov said.
All projects of the Ministry and youth organizations are available on the Internet through social networks. More than 150,000 Internet users are subscribed to the regional youth policy communities.
