Tatarstan President meets Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Sultan Al Mansoori

On November 27, at their meeting during the seventh meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Emirati Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a working visit in Abu-Dhabi, and Minister of Economy of the UAE Sultan Al Mansoori discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of Islamic finance and considered various options for the application and introduction of Islamic financial instruments in Russia.

Tatarstan President invited the Emirati minister of economy to take part in the 10th International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries "KAZANSUMMIT" to be held in Kazan in May 2018. Minnikhanov offered Sultan Al Mansoori to speak at the event to share the UAE’s experience in implementing the Islamic financial model.

The meeting also discussed the development of the halal industry, expansion of trade, economic and investment ties.
