Administrative and Territorial Division

The Republic of Tatarstan consists of districts, cities and towns that are listed in the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The districts include towns, urban-type villages and rural settlements with dependant territories.

The cities may be territorially subdivided into city districts.

Nowadays, there are 43 municipal districts and 2 urban districts (Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny) in the Republic of Tatarstan.
