Rustam Minnikhanov: MINEPS conference is a good opportunity to demonstrate sports achievements and big potential of our country

On July 14, at a plenary session of the Sixth International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport MINEPS VI, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that this conference is an important event for Tatarstan and Russia.

“All ministers of sport and other officials are here today. It is a real opportunity for us to show what we are doing in this sphere. Our country has made a revolution in the sphere of sport and physical education. Look what sports events have been held in our country! Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan, FINA Championship in 2015, and Confederations Cup 2017. I am sure that MINEPS is a good opportunity to demonstrate our sports achievements and a big potential of our country. I want to thank Russian President, who always supports us, Deputy Chairman of Russian Government Vitaly Mutko,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Mutko said that three global issues will be considered at the conference, - availability of sport for population of all countries, development of single approaches to this work, stable development and management of sport, the use of heritage after holding international sports events, and the integrity of sport and its protection from global problems, such as fixed matches, the influence on results of competitions, and doping.
