Rustam Minnikhanov presents the Order For Merit to the Republic of Tatarstan to Nursultan Nazarbayev

On June 12, during his working visit to Kazakhstan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had an official meeting with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minnikhanov thanked Nazarbayev for the opportunity to meet, despite his busy schedule these days, and for the support provided in the participation of the Tatarstan delegation in Astana EXPO-2017, which has become the centre of the most advanced scientific and technological achievements, a platform for the presentation of innovations in the power engineering sector these days.

"Your major role in establishing modern Kazakhstan, in developing integration processes in the Eurasian space, in expanding cooperation with the Russian Federation is invaluable. Russia and Kazakhstan are developing strategic partnership in all areas, including the power engineering of the future. We are sincerely glad that today, on Russia Day, Tatarstan, as one of the leading industrially developed and innovative regions, represents our country at Astana EXPO-2017,” Tatarstan President said during the conversation and told Nazarbayev about the Russian pavilion and Tatarstan's display.

Then the parties discussed prospects of cooperation between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan in the sphere of economy and joint social projects. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support of the local Tatar community in Kazakhstan and projects of Tatarstan in the international arena," Minnikhanov thanked Nazarbayev.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov presented the Order of Merit to the Republic of Tatarstan to President of Kazakhstan for his significant contribution to the development of cooperation between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan, the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples, and invited him to visit Tatarstan during his visits to Russia.

In his turn Nursultan Nazarbayev accepted the invitation and awarded Minnikhanov with the medal "25 Years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
