Ministry of Agriculture of the republic recorded increased demand for raw milk with higher procurement prices

On October 9, speaking at a briefing at the regional Cabinet of Ministers, Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov said the demand for raw milk has slightly increased with average procurement prices gone up recently.

Akhmetov noted that in the first nine months of this year the republic received almost 3.5 billion roubles less than last year from sales of milk.

Akhmetov stressed that as for the production of meat the republic has maintained a growth of 2 per cent. This year, it is expected to produce 500,000 tonnes of cattle meat, pigs and poultry.
