Maxim Akimov: Tatarstan does much for the development of economic relations between Russia and Singapore

On September 20, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the plenary session of the Russia Singapore Business Forum. At the Forum, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Maxim Akimov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic and Social Policy of the Republic of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam made presentations of investment opportunities of two countries.

In his welcoming speech, Akimov noted that more business representatives are taking part in the forum this year. "Our task is to create conditions for business cooperation between two countries. Today, Singapore is not only a good opportunity for cooperation, but also a global hub and "gateway" for the entire South-East Asia and the Pacific. Everyone has a shared interest in coming Singapore business to Russia and Russian business feeling confident and finding partners in Singapore. This process is dynamically developing, which results the mutual increase of trade turnover and investments. It is very important that our today’s discussions to be adopted and implemented in particular projects,” he said.

During the conversation with the Forum moderator, Akimov emphasized that one of the leading regions of Russia - the Republic of Tatarstan and its leader Minnikhanov personally do much and have made good progress in the development of mutual relations between our countries.
