Rustam Minnikhanov to participants of the fifth regional field Olympiad of Young Geologists: A geologist is a very noble and very difficult profession

On July 12, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of the fifth regional field Olympiad of Young Geologists.

Minnikhanov reminded that the Olympiad of Young Geologists is held with the support of Tatneft Oil Company and small oil companies of the republic. The Kazan Federal University, the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic are taking an active part in this work as well.

Minnikhanov stressed that a geologist is a very noble and very difficult profession. According to Tatarstan President, people become geologists not when entering a university, but at school. He noted that there are 33 schools in the republic with about 400 schoolchildren, who are trained in geology and have decided to become geologists.

"I am sure that your choice is vitally important," Minnikhanov addressed young geologists. “The gold and foreign exchange reserves are changing in the world, everything is changing, but there are always mineral and other natural resources. Therefore, we put huge expectations on you. Your knowledge, your wits, your experience are our future, the future of our country. I wish you success and thank you for being here. "
