Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the opening of the Schneider Electric Innovation Centre in Innopolis

On June 16, in the Innopolis Special Economic Zone, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of the Schneider Electric Innovation R&D Centre.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Board Member of Schneider Electric Emmanuel Babeau, who took part in the event, said that “he was sincerely excited about the current event." According to him, the new centre will foster serious development, as well as achievement of new heights in joint projects with Tatarstan.

Making a presentation on the Schneider Electric Innovation Centre opened in the Innopolis Special Economic Zone, Senior Vice-President - President Russia/CIS at Schneider Electric Johan Vanderplaetse noted, in particular, that the Schneider Electric Company has long been represented on the Russian market and is involved in the implementation of many industrial projects. "We are here to open a new chapter of our future together," Vanderplaetse said. “Any company that wants to invest in the future must invest in the development of new technologies. Therefore, we decided to open an R&D centre in Russia." According to him, they chose Innopolis, because it is a comfortable place to live and work and employs highly skilled engineers.

The participants and guests of the event looked around an administrative office of the Schneider Electric Innovation Centre. Then, Minnikhanov and representatives of Schneider Electric answered questions from journalists.

In particular, Tatarstan President noted that the products and technologies of the Schneider Electric are represented in many industrial companies of the republic. We want to establish long-term and promising cooperation with Schneider Electric, Minnikhanov said. According to him, the main element of cooperation is import substitution.
