Tatarstan President urges to organize the work of public areas so that they bring income necessary for their maintenance

On February 28, speaking in the 24th summary session of Kazan City Duma of the third convocation with participation of Deputy Chairman of the regional State Council Yuri Kamaltynov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Rustam Nigmatullin, Chairman of the Council of Municipalities of the republic Ekzam Gubaidullin, members of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, people’s deputies of the State Council of the republic, senior officials of ministries and agencies of the republic and other officials, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin reported that 5.5 billion roubles are planned to be allocated for road repair including 4,65 billion roubles for the streets and one billion roubles for the yards.

The Mayor of Kazan reminded that the year 2017 became unprecedented by volume of road repairs, 175 streets were repaired. The appeals of citizens through the People's control system were taken into account while forming the list.

On behalf of Kazan citizens and especially citizens of urban settlements Ilsur Metshin thanked Tatarstan President for the fund allocated for this purpose that amounted to over 6 billion roubles in 2017.

Making a keynote report, Metshin reminded that as at 2017, there were 22 problem facilities in the capital of the republic. As many as six houses with 1360 apartments were commissioned.

Metshin also said that proposals to improve the efficiency of this work are being prepared together with Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities of Tatarstan.

“In particular, it is necessary to divide at the legislative level the really indigent participants of the shared-equity construction who have invested in their future apartment all their resources, often credited funds and those participants of shared-equity construction, who obviously not being in need of improving their housing conditions, have invested money for further profit," the Mayor said and added that according to the investigative authorities, some “deceived” participants of shared-equity construction bought 26 apartments.

Tatarstan will support initiatives of Kazan to speed up the solution of the problem of deceived participants, Tatarstan President said.

Great deal of work on improvement of green areas is under way in Kazan. It is important to give life to new public spaces of the city to fill up them with functions, Tatartsan President noted at the summing session of Kazan City Duma. However, to his opinion, parks and squares must be self-sufficient: the work of public areas should be organized so that they bring income necessary for their maintenance.

“There are 140 parks and squares with the total area of 367 hectares. As many as 39 places of public recreational facilities of the citizens renovated and 15 new places established to date. Since 2013, totally, 60 parks and squares have been renovated in the capital of Tatarstan and this work will be continued, eight more parks will be improved in 2018,” the Mayor of Kazan said.

At the same time, during the session, the people’s deputies raised the issue of the lack of green areas in new residential areas and the necessity of reservation of territories for future green areas.

Tatarstan President also urged Metshin to deal with citizen’s dissatisfaction with the work of medical institutions.

Minnikhanov also said that this will be high-priority issue of the authorities of the republic. “I ask you to take these issues on personal control. It is very important,” Minnikhanov said, referring to Metshin.
