Rais of Tatarstan: Names of heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the valiant work of home front workers will remain in our hearts forever

On 9 May, Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and veterans of the WW II and participants of the special military operation took part  at a ceremonial reception on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War held in the Kazan Kremlin.

On 9 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other high rank officials took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the Eternal Flame of the colonnade of the Glory Memorial in the Victory Park in Kazan.

On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.

On 9 May in his address on the occasion of 81st Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II), the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated residents of the republic, combat soldiers and home front workers with the Victory Day and said: “This holiday personifies courage, unity and unbending will of our multiethnic people and occupies a special place in life of each of us, evoking the most tender feelings.

The Victory Day reminds us about the most difficult trials that fell to the lot of our ancestors, the history of heroic overcoming and the triumph of fortitude. We are deeply grateful to the generations of victors, who resolutely and selflessly defended the freedom and independence of the Motherland.
