Rustam Minnikhanov: Muslyumovo region has every chance of having a good harvest

On August 15, during his working visit to Muslyumovo region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov inspected the course of harvesting works and discussed topical issues of the current harvest campaign with farm workers.

Minnikhanov was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov, Head of Muslyumovo region Ramil Mullin and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

At the meeting with farm machinery operators, heads of agricultural enterprises and rural settlements Mullin reported that as for today, farm workers have harvested more than 8,600 hectares of arable land, which is 17 per cent of the total plan. With an average yield of 35.1 centners per hectare, a total of 30,000 tonnes of bread have been harvested.

Mullin noted that autumn sowing started in the region. More than a hundred hectares of industrial crops have already been sown. It is planned to start sowing winter grain crops from tomorrow, he added. 

As noted at the meeting, there are 28 family farms, 65 farms and four large agricultural enterprises in the region. The total number of cattle is 11,900 heads, more than 4,700 of which are milk cows. As of the 1st of August this year, a total of 101,300 tonnes of milk and 38,600 tonnes of meat have been produced.

Minnikhanov appreciated the work of regional farm workers. "Muslyumovo region has every chance of having a good harvest. According to the weather forecast, good sunny weather will last for about a week. Farmers should make the most use of this favorable time for work,” Tatarstan President emphasized.
