Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in Sabantuy in Kostanay

On July 8, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in Tatar national holiday Sabantuy in Kostanay (Kazakhstan).

"Kazakhs and Tatars are close in history, culture, language and customs. Today's holiday is a vivid example of friendship and good relations between our peoples,” Akim of Kostanay region Arkhimed Mukhambetov said, welcoming participants and guests of Sabantuy.

Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to Mukhambetov, senior officials of Kazakhstan for holding Sabantuy in Kostanay and for supporting the initiatives of the Tatar national-cultural organizations. "Due to wise policy of the President of Kazakhstan, all conditions for preserving the culture and identity of the Tatar people have been created here," Minnikhanov said.

After that, Tatarstan President and Akim of Kostanay region handed in state awards to the most distinguished people, who made a great contribution to the preservation and development of the Tatar culture.
