On July 6, Chairman of the public council of the United Russia party's project, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the key task facing Parks of Small Towns project is to determine minimum amount of works that need to be done to achieve good results after its implementation.

“Though the party's project has started recently, it has already become extremely popular, covering 317 towns. And today we need to determine the minimum amount of works that need to be done to improve recreation areas in towns with a population of up to 250,000 people. Parks are the centre of attraction for people, that is why it is important to understand what residents of towns would like to see and lay it down in the implementation plan of the party's project,” Minnikhanov said at the first meeting of the public council of the party's project.

According to federal coordinator of the Parks of Small Towns Party's Project Vladimir Panov, there are regions which managed to work out positive practices of interaction with the public.

He said that an equally important point is the quality of decisions made. "Not all regions and small towns can make quality projects. Some of them do not have enough practices, skills, knowledge. Therefore, we proposed to attract students of federal universities of the country who could take part in this project at the federal level, as well as to present educational programmes that we will prepare,” Panov said.
