Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in start-up of a new conveyor line for production of ELAZ-BL excavator-loaders at ElAZ Auto Plant

On June 15, in Yelabuga municipal region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the start up of a new conveyor line for the production of ELAZ-BL excavator-loaders at ElAZ Auto Plant.

ELAZ-BL excavator-loaders, models 880 and 888, produced at ElAZ Auto Plant, are designed for mechanizing earthmoving and handling operations in industrial, road and civil construction, quarrying in the mining industry, performing repair work of utilities and in other branches of the economy.

The total investment in the project amounted to more than 330 million roubles. The design capacity of the conveyor assembly line makes 500 units per year.

"Today, we have got acquainted with the equipment and are opening a new line for the production of Turkish brand excavator-loaders localized at this plant," Minnikhanov said at the opening ceremony. "This is a modern high-efficiency plant and a marketable product in Russia."

Minnikhanov reminded that the country's leadership pays special attention to the issues of import substitution, and that by working together Turkish partners and ElAZ enterprise have managed to implement a project with localization of production up to 75 per cent.
