Rustam Minnikhanov meets delegation of the Republic of Senegal led by President of the Association of Mayors of Senegal Aliou Sall

On June 7, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with members of the delegation of the Republic of Senegal led by President of the Association of Mayors of Senegal Aliou Sall.

Minnikhanov noted that he visited Senegal in 2004. He said that Director General of KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin, who has visited Senegal recently, told him about positive changes in the country, economic growth and other reforms.

Minnikhanov said that Senegal, KAMAZ and the Russian Export Centre have promising relations.

During the meeting, he conveyed an invitation to President of Senegal to visit Tatarstan during his official visit to Russia.

"Your visit is a landmark event. We will do our best to make your visit successful. I can assure you that KAMAZ is a reliable partner. It is possible to promote other projects following the example of successful interaction with KAMAZ," Minnikhanov said.

In his turn, Sall said that this is his first visit to Russia and his acquaintance with the country began with Tatarstan and Kazan. He thanked Minnikhanov for hospitality and said that in his country Tatarstan is known as a dynamically developing region of Russia.

Sall continued that Senegal plays an important role in African countries and in the countries of the Islamic world. “We are pleased to hear that you are also responsible for developing relations with the countries of the Islamic world as part of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia – the Islamic World,” he said.

We also want to use the experience of Tatarstan in the field of petrochemistry, agriculture, to strengthen cooperation in the sphere of education and culture, Sall said.

Tomorrow the delegation of the Republic of Senegal will visit production facilities of KAMAZ Automaker.
